1992-2001 Twenty months in the Afghan Civil War

1994-1995, 2006 Three months in Iraqi Kurdistan

2000-2007 Twenty-five months in Kurdish areas in Turkey

2008-2014 Twelve months in Kabul and the countryside

2012-2013 Two months in rebel-controlled areas of Syria
